Our organization is dedicated to furthering Celtic arts and traditions of piping and drumming by performances, competitions, instruction, and education. We enjoy our hobby and we are delighted to have the support of our family and friends at rehearsals and on the road to competitions!

We offer three options to learn bagpipes or Scottish drumming;

First – Group lessons at our regular rehearsal location are $10 a lesson. Bagpipe students are asked to purchase a practice chanter (approx. $85). Snare drumming students a practice pad and drum sticks (approx. $70). Tenor and bass drumming students must purchase padded mallets (approx. $65). The piping and drumming instructors will advise you on what to purchase and they will suggest a reliable source.

Second – Group lessons through the Oldham County Schools Art Center, 7105 Floydsburg Rd, Crestwood, KY 40014. Registration is through the arts center. Group lessons to learn bagpipes or drumming costs $150 for 15 week sessions in the spring and fall, and $125 for summer sessions, plus the cost of practice chanter, practice pad and sticks as shared above.

Third – Private instruction with one of our advanced players. Days and time as well as cost ($20 to $30 per lesson) varies by instructor. Again, there is the cost for the practice chanter, practice pad and sticks as shared above.

Our regular rehearsals are on Sunday afternoons at St. Andrew Episcopal Church, 2233 Woodbourne Ave, Louisville, KY 40205 and new student lessons are offered from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. with advanced players rehearsing from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Dates and times are always subject to change. This is especially true during the highland game competition season May through September. Please contact us at [email protected] for our practice schedule.
