Louisville Pipe Band

Join the Louisville Pipe Band

Our organization is dedicated to furthering Celtic arts and traditions of piping and drumming by performances, competition, instruction, and education. We are a musical and educational group. Our members are united by an appreciation of piping and drumming. Membership is open to persons who share this sentiment. The Louisville Pipe Band is the result of a dedicated effort to create a community pipe band for the Louisville area. Fostering understanding and appreciation of Celtic music is the primary purpose of the band. Through performance, competition, and teaching, the band promotes this worthy goal.

The band makes an effort to tailor programs to meet the needs and abilities of those interested in learning to play the highland bagpipe or Scottish side drum. The band meets to rehearse on Sunday evenings from 5-7 PM at Buechel United Methodist Church, 2817 Hikes Lane, Louisville, KY 40218-1669. Dates and times are always subject to change. This is especially true during the highland game competition season. If in doubt, please confirm with a band officer before traveling significant distances by contacting a band officer . Rehearsals are open by invitation.

For information on bagpipe instruction, please contact Ted Palmer. For information on drumming instruction, please contact Rick McKenzie.
